US Peace Corps Education Volunteer

​2012-2014

 

Taught English at the university level. Designed semester curriculum, prepared weekly lessons and conducted student evaluations. Also conducted a weekly women's empowerment group with English students, and was a member of the volunteer committee on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment. Lived and worked on campus, participating in campus activities and integrating into the campus community. Service included intensive language and cultural integration training.

Led students from Claire Lilienthal Alternative School in after school activities, supporting approximately 130 students in grades 3-8. Typically led small groups of 15-25 students. Activities included homework tutoring, arts, and recreation. Included training in youth development methodology. Ensured a safe social and learning environment for students. Built long-term relationships with students, families and the community.

 

 

Academy of Art University Campus Tours Representative

​2007-2009

 

Conducted tours of all departments at the university. Worked with the admissions department in communicating directly with prospective students and their families about university life and curriculum. Regularly delivered large group presentations for high school students and industry guests. Entailed excellent presentation, customer service and public relations skills, with a high sense of professionalism.
